About Me
Emma Walz, LMSW, CYT
Hi, I’m Emma (she/her). I’m a licensed social worker who works with people who have experienced tough stuff in their childhood. My goal is to help you stop feeling overwhelmed and anxious and start feeling calm and connected.
Being a therapist is so fulfilling. I love helping people connect deeply with themselves and watching their confidence grow. The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is seeing a person walk away lighter, more free, and excited about their life.
I have a natural ability to:
Help people identify what they are feeling
Uncover what's under the surface
Inspire hope for getting better
Help clients heal their past and manage the present
I listen deeply to help people feel heard and understood. Once you feel understood and seen, you can start to heal.
I am committed to principles of anti-racism, inclusion, and social justice. I recognize that we all exist within the context of systems like capitalism, white supremacy, and patriarchy and I’m always listening for the ways that we have internalized aspects of these systems, as mental health does not exist in an apolitical vacuum. I am committed to respecting your needs, continued learning, and supporting all the identities you hold.

Level 2 trained in Internal Family Systems Therapy

As a therapist, I embrace the following philosophies:
You are worthy of love and care.
Emotions heal when they are witnessed and validated.
Our emotions make sense when we dig deeper, and that loving and accepting ourselves for these emotions is one of the most courageous things we can do.
We can stop feeling shame when we share our story with someone who can hear it with empathy and understanding.
Even if we feel like we've lost hope, it's possible to show up, commit to ourselves, and do what it takes to start feeling better.
“You are imperfect, you are wired for struggle, and you are worthy of love and belonging.”
- Brené Brown
